Planting Beebombs for World Environment Day
Did you know that since the end of World War II somewhere in the region of 97% of bees’ and butterflies’ natural habitats has been lost?
What are Beebombs and how do they work?
Handmade in Dorset, Beebombs are little seedballs comprised of sheltering clay and sifted soil, packed with thousands of wildflower seeds. The seeds are a mixture of 18 varieties of native, British species which have been designated by the Royal Horticultural Society as “perfect for pollinators”.
Requiring no gardening skill whatsoever, Beebombs can be scattered onto cleared ground/soil and left alone to bloom into a wildflower meadow that will contribute to bringing the bees back!
What else do We Seal do to help the environment?
In an age where we’re all looking to use less plastic, we take our responsibility to the planet very seriously, and we’re passionate about reducing the amount of plastic that is used in the first place.
We’re pride ourselves on our fully recyclable tape seals which use 5x less plastic than rigid clips, help to keep your bread fresher for longer and ultimately reduce food waste.
Our passion means that we not only campaign to find new ways to collect, re-use and recycle – we also educate consumers via our platform on BreadBagRecycling.org. We work closely with food producers, supermarkets and environmental groups such as WRAP and the Plastics Pact and are helping to make a positive impact.
Our R&D program is constantly looking at re-inventing how we design, produce and sell products as well as re-thinking how we use and
consume materials. We’re re-defining what’s possible in tape sealing through pioneering new partnerships with the plastic film manufacturers.
To help recycle the non-recyclable, we have also become a Terracycle collection station and have invested in ISO 14001:2015 environmental management accreditation. We also offer an ‘end of life’ service for machines where we remove our old sealing machines to ensure they are fully recycled wherever possible.
